Exploring Shakti: Embodying the Goddess Archetypes of Yoga
One Saturday per month | Jan. 19 - April 20, 2019 | Register today
Encounter the Goddesses of yoga.
Throughout history humans have used mythology, archetypes, symbols and sound to understand and build relationships with nature and the universe. In yogic philosophy, the many Gods and Goddesses in the Hindu pantheon represent different energies in the world, and in varying degrees, in ourselves. Learning the names and forms of these energies allows us to align and access different aspects of shakti, or creative feminine power for self evolution and healing no matter our gender.
Experiencing the Feminine Divine
This 4-month immersion into the Goddess archetypes of Yoga dedicates each month to a different "face" of the creative feminine and reflects the journey of the soul through various stages of development.
Month 1: We begin with Kali Durga's purification of the non essential and all that stands in our way of our highest self.
Month 2: The 2nd month we move to Lakshmi's spiritual gifts of love, goodness, compassion and abundance.
Month 3: The 3rd month we open to Saraswati's flow of wisdom, grace and awakening.
Month 4: The 4th month is dedicated to a celebration of the journey and the cultivation of a "Self Love Sadhana" or a personal spiritual practice that embodies what each participant needs most in the way of shakti, or energy to further their goals and aspirations.
Each session includes:
